| Obverse description | Bare laureate head of Augustus facing right, rendered in fine high relief with naturalistic portraiture characteristic of Augustan classicism. The emperor's features are idealized yet individualized, with carefully delineated wavy hair secured beneath a laurel wreath. The neck is cleanly truncated, and the flan surface surrounding the effigy shows the irregular edge typical of hand-struck Roman coinage of this period. No legend appears on the obverse of this type. |
