| Reverse description | Jupiter seated in a quadriga driven at full gallop to the left, his right arm raised and brandishing a thunderbolt, a dynamic composition typical of late Republican reverse types. The four horses are rendered with energetic detail, their bodies overlapping in vigorous motion. A scorpion appears below the horses in the exergual area on the variant issue, serving as a die-linking control mark. The multi-line legend P HVPSEVS / AED CVR in the upper field identifies Publius Plautius Hypsaeus as curule aedile, while CAPTVM and C HVPSAE COS / PREIVER in the lower field reference the capture of Prieneste and the consulship of C.
