| Obverse description | Frontal enthroned figure of Bishop Louis of Hessen, depicted in episcopal vestments with right hand raised in benediction and left hand resting across the body, set within an inner beaded border. The bishop wears a mitre rendered in a stylized, flat relief characteristic of early 14th-century Westphalian hammered coinage. The legend LODEVICUS runs partially around the periphery in uncial characters. The overall design is executed in the crude but bold artistic style typical of medieval German ecclesiastical denars. |

| Reverse description | Frontal facing head of Saint Paul the Apostle, rendered in a highly stylized schematic manner with dot-punched eyes, a prominent nose, and an open mouth, all framed within a beaded inner border. The saint wears a flat cap or episcopal-style headpiece surmounted by a small cross at the top. Flanking circular pellets accentuate the face in a symmetrical arrangement. The partial legend PAVLVS APOS, identifying the patron saint of Münster Cathedral, runs around the periphery in uncial script. |
