Obverse description Diademed and veiled bust of the deified Queen Arsinoe II facing right, her hair rendered in wavy locks beneath a fillet-bound stephane, with the prominent ram's horn of Ammon curling behind her ear — an attribute of her divine assimilation to Zeus-Ammon. The veil falls in deep, naturalistically rendered folds over the shoulder, conveying both regal dignity and divine status. The portrait is executed in the refined Hellenistic court style, with delicate facial features and high sculptural relief characteristic of early Ptolemaic coinage. No legend appears on the obverse; the field is otherwise plain.
