Reverse description Saint Dévote is depicted standing in three-quarter view at center, her right arm raised holding a palm frond, her left arm extended, set upon a decorative base or exergual line suggesting the shoreline. The date 1735 appears in two parts flanking the figure in the lower field. The circular legend TV. NOS. AB. HOSTE. PROT., meaning 'Protect us from the enemy,' runs around the upper portion, with S. DEV. appearing in the lower exergue identifying Saint Dévote, patroness of Monaco. A plain raised rim encloses the design.
