| Obverse description | Standing full-length figure of Saint Victor facing right, depicted as a martyr-soldier in helmet and full armor, a sword suspended behind him. In his right hand he carries a long-staffed banner or vexillum, the staff bisecting the inner beaded circle. The saint's effigy is rendered in the bold, relatively schematic style characteristic of mid-sixteenth-century Low Countries hammered coinage. The legend runs along the inner circle, naming and acclaiming the patron saint. |
