| Obverse description | Irregular square klippe flan struck by hammer, oriented as a lozenge. At center, a circular beaded border encloses the crowned arms of Zierikzee — a rampant lion on a divided shield surmounted by an ornate crested helm with elaborate mantling — all rendered in a bold but rudimentary emergency-issue style. Above the central device, a small oval counterstamp depicting the civic arms of Zierikzee is applied near the upper corner of the flan. Below the central arms, the date 1575 appears within a decorative cartouche near the lower corner. The flat silver field surrounding the central circle shows the characteristic roughness and tool marks of hastily prepared siege coinage. |
