Obverse description Three applied hand stamps on a plain pewter field, characteristic of siege coinage produced under duress. At center, the arms of Zierikzee enclosed within a beaded circle; at the upper angle, the arms of Zeeland similarly enclosed within a beaded circle; at the lower angle, the date 1575 set within an ornate frame. The stamps are irregularly placed on the rhombus-shaped klippe flan, reflecting the emergency conditions of production during the Spanish siege.
