Obverse description Armored knight standing to left with head turned to the right, clad in full plate armor with an ornate plumed crest; before him, a lion-emblazoned shield bisects the circular Latin legend in the outer field. The figure is depicted with a flowing drapery mantle and holds a sword or lance, rendered in the bold relief characteristic of Dutch provincial piedfort issues. The legend is arranged around the periphery and interrupted by the shield device.

Reverse description A boldly rendered rampant lion passant to the left, with mane and tail finely detailed, occupies the central field within a raised beaded inner circle. The date appears prominently at the top of the inner circle, flanking the lion's head. The circumferential Latin legend is distributed around the outer field between the beaded circle and the coin's irregular rim, typical of the Leeuwendaalder piedfort type struck at Harderwijk.
