| Obverse description | Central field displays the crowned arms of Zwolle — a quartered shield bearing an ox passant — surmounted by a crested helm with elaborate mantling. The shield is set within a beaded inner circle. The circular Latin legend reads ·MO· ARG· CIVITA· ·ZWOLL· IMP·, identifying the coin as silver coinage of the imperial city of Zwolle. The die is struck on an irregular planchet typical of hammered coinage of the period, with the legend partially weak at the flan edges. |
