Reverse description The reverse features a boldly rendered rampant lion facing left, its mane deeply engraved and tail curling upward, occupying the majority of the central field. The lion is contained within a dotted inner circle, with the Latin scriptural legend encircling the design between the inner and outer beaded borders. The style and execution are consistent with the Leeuwendaalder (lion dollar) type, here struck as a piedfort at double the standard weight, giving the relief exceptional depth and sharpness. The lettering, though partially worn, reads legibly as a devotional motto from Psalm 118.
