| Obverse description | Crowned effigy of Saint King Oswald facing right, holding a scepter in his right hand and a sword in his left, rendered in the medieval style typical of hammered coinage. The royal saint is depicted with regal attributes befitting his dual status as monarch and martyr. A circular beaded inner border frames the central design, with the legend occupying the field between the inner and outer beaded circles. The obverse bears the inscription identifying the saint and the issuing authority of Heelde. |
