Obverse description Central field displays four fleurs-de-lis arranged 1-2-1 within a double quatrefoil frame, the lobes of which are separated by four small trefoil ornaments. The design closely imitates the royal coinage of Louis XI (the 'blanc au soleil'), though here without a central sun. A circular legend in Gothic lettering runs between the inner beaded border and the outer rim.
