Obverse description Crowned royal bust of Juan I facing right in profile, rendered in the Gothic style characteristic of late 14th-century Castilian coinage. The king wears an ornate crown adorned with fleurs-de-lis and trefoil finials rising prominently above the flan. The hair flows in stylized waves behind the neck, a conventional artistic treatment of the period. A small decorative rosette appears before the royal effigy in the field. The surrounding Latin legend, partially visible on the irregular flan, reads IOHANES REX.
