Reverse description Crowned quartered shield of Navarre occupying the central field, surmounted by an open royal crown in low relief. The shield displays the characteristic chains of Navarre in its quarters, struck in a bold if somewhat irregular manner typical of hammered provincial coinage. Flanking the shield, the mintmark letters P and A appear in the field to the left and right respectively, serving as initial marks of the issuing authority.
