| Obverse description | Allegorical figure of the French Republic, draped in antique style, standing facing, laureate and radiate, holding in her left hand a tablet inscribed with the Constitution and its articles, and in her right hand an olive branch. At her feet lie farming tools and a sculptural mask, while a beehive and a lyre appear in the right background. The legend 'REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE' arcs around the field, with the date 'MDCCCLXX' in the exergue and the engraver's name 'OUDINÉ' at lower right. |
