| Obverse description | Armored bust of Duke Bernhard of Saxe-Weimar, nearly facing right, holding a commander's staff, set within a richly decorated oval cartouche with scrollwork and a mask at the crown. The cartouche is inscribed with the sitter's title and name, and a circular Latin legend surrounds the entire composition in the outer border. The engraver's signature 'J.
