Obverse description The obverse features the City of Meriden coat of arms in relief at center, surrounded by the circular legend CONNECTICUT TERCENTENARY along the upper rim and the dates 1635-1935 along the lower rim. A laurel branch decorates the lower field, and the Roman numeral date MDCCCLXVIII appears on the shield. A small suspension hole is pierced at the top.
