Reverse description Detailed naval battle scene depicting multiple sailing warships engaged in combat amid billowing cannon smoke on choppy waters. An American eagle flies in the upper right, clutching a U.S. flag in its talons and holding a banner inscribed VICTORY in its beak. The engraver's name FURST appears in the lower right of the battle scene, above the exergue, which contains the commemorative inscription in two lines.
