Reverse description Allegorical scene in high relief depicting figures associated with the Hospitaller Order of St. John of God: at centre, a stylized globe surmounted by a pomegranate reliquary; to the left, a kneeling friar attended by a haloed figure; to the right, a bishop blessing a supplicant. Above the scene is a cross and the Order's crowned pomegranate emblem flanked by laurel branches. The engraver's signature E. BYRNE appears to the right, and INCM to the left. The circular legend reads ORDEM HOSPITALEIRA DE S. JOÃO DE DEUS.
