| Reverse description | The reverse displays the full-color enameled Great Seal of the State of Colorado at center, featuring the state coat of arms with crossed hammers on a gold and blue shield, surmounted by the Eye of Providence above radiating sunbeams, flanked by fasces. The seal is surrounded by a red and gold rope border with the motto NIL SINE NUMINE on a scroll below the shield and the date 1876 at the bottom. The outer black border bears the legend naming Maj Gen H.
