Obverse description Laureate head of Nerva facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed portraiture characteristic of Flavian-Trajanic transitional coinage. The emperor's aging facial features — including a pronounced brow, sunken cheeks, and a slightly open mouth — are rendered with naturalistic realism. The laureate wreath sits firmly upon the head, with individual leaves and ties visible. The encircling Latin legend runs along the outer border of the flan, partially visible due to the irregular striking characteristic of cistophoric coinage.
