| Obverse description | Crude hammered lead flan bearing a three-line Latin inscription in the field, reading DAN / NIS / BORG, referencing the Danish colonial settlement of Dansborg at Tranquebar. The lettering is deeply but roughly struck, characteristic of the primitive hammered coinage produced for local circulation in Danish India. The irregular flan exhibits the uneven edges and surface texture typical of lead cast and hand-struck colonial issues. No border or decorative device frames the legend. |
