Obverse description Youthful head of Herakles facing right, clad in the scalp of the Nemean lion as headdress, with the beast's muzzle covering the crown and ears of the hero rendered in high relief. The modeling of the facial features is bold and confident, typical of the Lysippan-influenced Alexander type, with a strong jaw, aquiline nose, and a partially open mouth. A beaded border surrounds the entire design. The flan shows characteristic irregular edges and surface patination consistent with a hammered bronze issue of the period.
