Additional information

Kolophon's bronze coinage of this period falls within a phase of intense Ionian civic autonomy, squeezed between Persian reassertion after the King's Peace of 386 BC and the eventual Macedonian reorganization of the Aegean coast. The magistrate name Kleandros appears on multiple bronze denominations from this mint, suggesting either a lengthy tenure or a concentrated burst of production under his authority — the chronological window doesn't permit certainty.

Milne's classification of Kolophonian bronzes remains the foundational reference, though Kinns's later study refined several die linkages within the series.
