| Reverse description | Standing figure, most likely the god Marsyas or a related deity, depicted facing frontally in the center of the field with arms outstretched, characteristic of the civic bronze coinage of Apameia in Phrygia. Flanking the figure, traces of a Greek legend are present though largely illegible due to heavy wear and surface corrosion. The composition is rendered in low relief on an irregularly shaped flan typical of late Hellenistic hammered bronze coinage. |
