| Obverse description | Helmeted head of Athena in right profile, wearing a crested Attic helmet. The effigy is rendered in a compact, archaic-influenced style typical of Akarnanian bronze coinage of the early Hellenistic period. The facial features are boldly modeled, with the helmet crest and cheekpiece clearly articulated. The flan is irregular, as is characteristic of hammered bronze issues of this region and period. |
