Reverse description A deity, likely Zeus or Apollo, seated in profile to the right upon a throne, holding a long sceptre or staff in the right hand and what appears to be an eagle or branch in the left. The figure is draped and rendered in the classical Greek style typical of Thessalian bronze coinage of the mid-fourth century BC. The ethnic inscription ΔΙΑΩΝ is disposed vertically to the left of the enthroned figure, identifying the issuing community of Dia. The composition fills the flan, with the throne rendered in detail including legs and cross-bar.
