Obverse description Draped bust of Artemis facing right, her hair rendered in wavy locks and bound with a taenia, with a small quiver and bow visible over her left shoulder. The portrait is rendered in a late Hellenistic style characteristic of Lucanian coinage, with fine facial features and naturalistic hair treatment. The field is plain and unlettered, the design occupying the full flan.

Reverse description A two-handled krater (volute krater) depicted in the central field, its body, stem, and foot clearly articulated, with prominent curved handles rising from the shoulders of the vessel. To the right, a single upright ear of barley is placed beside the krater, a recurring civic symbol of Metapontion referencing the city's agricultural prosperity. The ethnic inscription ΜΕΤΑ appears to the left of the krater in Greek characters, distributed vertically along the left field.
