Reverse description A shield viewed en face, depicted in low relief with a pronounced central boss upon which a four-spoked wheel or cross device is incised, a characteristic emblem associated with the coinage of Chalkis. The shield is set within a circular border or raised rim, occupying the majority of the reverse field. The Greek letter Chi (X) appears as a mint or magistrate's mark, serving as the sole inscription on this type. The overall design reflects the standard military iconography employed on Chalkidian bronze issues of the Hellenistic period.
