Reverse description A helmeted, draped, and cuirassed Roman soldier advances to the left, thrusting a spear downward with his right hand to spear a fallen enemy horseman below. The soldier carries a large round shield on his left arm, and a second shield lies on the ground to the right of the composition. The fallen horseman, depicted below the soldier's feet, extends his left arm upward in a gesture of supplication or defeat. The reverse type belongs to the well-known FEL TEMP REPARATIO series, specifically the 'soldier spearing fallen horseman' type, with the divided legend FEL TEMP - REPARATIO appearing in the fields and mint marks in the exergue.
