| Reverse description | The Portuguese royal coat of arms occupies the central field, depicted in a schematic hammered style consistent with early sixteenth-century ceitil coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the armorial device, mirroring the obverse inscription. The overall execution reflects the irregular, artisanal quality characteristic of hammered base-metal coinage of the reign of João III. |
