| Obverse description | Central field features the elaborate tuğra (imperial cipher) of Sultan Mahmud II, rendered in fine relief with characteristic calligraphic flourishes. The tuğra is surrounded by an ornate wreath of intertwining floral and foliate vines, executed in high relief and encircling the entire field. The decorative border of stylized leaves and buds frames the design, consistent with the refined aesthetic of late Ottoman gold coinage. The overall composition reflects the skilled craftsmanship of the Kostantiniyye mint workshop. |
