Reverse description The central field, enclosed within a raised circular border, bears a multi-line Arabic-script inscription in Ottoman calligraphy recording the mint name, regnal year, and accession year. The text reads 'ضرب قسطنطنية' (struck at Constantinople/Kostantiniyye) above the accession date '١٢٢٣' (AH 1223) and the regnal year numeral (varying by issue year, e.g. ١٧ for year 17). The surrounding outer annular field carries additional Ottoman Arabic inscriptions conveying honorific or religious formulae. The reeded edge frames the densely calligraphic composition, characteristic of Mahmud II-era gold coinage.
