| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Holy Roman Emperor Charles V facing right, depicted with flowing hair and beard in Renaissance style, occupying the majority of the coin's field. The portrait is rendered in high relief with detailed hair treatment and facial features characteristic of Neapolitan hammered coinage of the period. A circular legend in Latin surrounds the effigy, reading along the inner border of the coin. |
