| Reverse description | A horse standing to the right in profile, rendered in the characteristic Punic artistic tradition with a sturdy, compact body and raised head. A palm tree is depicted behind or beside the horse, a symbolic motif strongly associated with Carthaginian coinage and the fertility of the Iberian territories. The design occupies the full flan with no surrounding legend or exergual inscription. The relief is moderately high and well-preserved despite surface corrosion typical of bronze coins recovered from Iberian contexts. This type closely follows the Barcid military coinage struck at Carthago Nova circa 220–215 BC. |
