Reverse description Central field displaying a three-line Arabic legend in bold hammered relief, reading 'Duriba fi / al-Jaza'ir / 1223' (Struck in Algiers, AH 1223), arranged within a rectangular cartouche framed by geometric triangular ornamental border elements filling the corners and periphery of the flan. The mint name and Hijri date are rendered in a characteristic Maghrebi calligraphic style. The overall design is enclosed within the coin's irregular polygonal edge, consistent with the artisanal hammered production of the Algiers mint during this period.
