Obverse description Draped bust of Ernest of Bavaria, Prince-Bishop of Liege, facing right, with ruffled collar and elaborately curled hair, rendered in low relief in the late Renaissance hammered style. The effigy occupies the central field, enclosed within an inner beaded circle. A Latin legend encircles the periphery, incorporating the date 1586, separated by pellet stops. The flan is irregular, typical of hammered coinage of the period, with flat areas and some surface porosity.
Obverse script Latin
Obverse lettering AVDIATVR · ALTERA · PARS · 1586
