Reverse description A horse prancing to the right occupies the central field, rendered in the schematised Celtic artistic style characteristic of late pre-Roman Iron Age British coinage. Above the horse's back appears a highly stylised rider or solar symbol composed of curvilinear elements. Pellets and annulets are scattered throughout the field as decorative devices. The legend ANDOCO, attributing the issue to the ruler Andoco of the Catuvellauni, is distributed around the design. The overall composition reflects the abstract, decorative treatment typical of the Trinovantian Q series.
