| Obverse description | Stylised head facing right rendered in the late Iron Age Celtic artistic tradition, executed with characteristic abstraction. The face is depicted with bold, schematic features, the hair suggested by a series of radiating curved lines or pellets emanating from the crown. A plain beaded border encircles the flan. The overall style reflects the Gallo-Belgic influence prevalent in Catuvellauni coinage of the late 1st century BC to early 1st century AD. The legend VERI, an abbreviated reference to the mint of Verlamion, appears partially in the field. |

| Reverse description | A horse prancing to the right occupies the central field, rendered in the stylised, abstract Celtic manner characteristic of British Iron Age coinage. The animal's body is composed of bold, exaggerated curves with pellet ornaments and subsidiary symbols dispersed throughout the field. The abbreviated legend TASC, denoting the issuing ruler Tasciovanus, appears in the field adjacent to the horse. The composition is typical of the 'Trinovantian M' series associated with the Catuvellauni mint at Verlamion. |
