Reverse description A horsewoman advancing to right occupies the central field, depicted in the stylised Celtic manner with the figure seated upon a galloping horse. The rider holds a carnyx, the distinctive Celtic war-trumpet with an animal-headed bell, raised aloft. The composition reflects the late Iron Age British artistic vocabulary, with ancillary pellet and ring ornaments in the field. The strike is bold though somewhat flat in areas, consistent with hand-hammered production on an irregular bronze flan.
