Reverse description A griffin is depicted striding to the left with its head turned back to face right, rendered in the schematic Celtic style characteristic of Cunobelinus's bronze issues. A bucranium (ox skull) is placed in the upper field above the griffin's back. In the lower field, a CAMVL monogram is inscribed, serving as an abbreviated reference to Camulodunum, the mint of issue. Decorative scroll and pellet ornaments fill the remaining field. The flan is irregular with a beaded border encircling the design.
