| Obverse description | Facing gorgoneion rendered in low relief, occupying the full field of the flan. The apotropaic mask displays broad, flattened facial features with a wide grimacing mouth, bulbous nose, and schematically rendered hair or serpents forming a beaded border around the periphery of the face. The design is characteristic of the archaic Olbian cast bronze series, conveying a bold, frontal apotropaic image without inscription. |
