| Obverse description | Uniface bracteate struck in thin silver sheet. The central device depicts a rampant Bohemian lion passant-rampant facing left, shown with a raised forepaw, open jaws, and a prominent curling tail, rendered in vigorous high relief typical of Austrian medieval bracteate coinage. The lion is crowned, consistent with the heraldic arms of Ottokar II as King of Bohemia and Duke of Carinthia. The design is contained within a raised beaded or plain inner circle, with the irregular flan edge characteristic of hand-cut hammered bracteates of the period. |
