| Obverse description | Within an inner reeded circle, a large Gothic letter A dominates the field, flanked by four annulets symmetrically placed around it. A small rampant lion passant right appears at the top of the design. The encircling legend reads CREMONA in abbreviated Latin, separated by pellets, introduced by a cross pattée. The lettering is rendered in an uncial Gothic style characteristic of northern Italian civic coinage of the early fifteenth century. |
