Obverse description Central field displays a large Gothic letter 'A' in uncial style, surrounded by five small annulets (rings) positioned at the cardinal and intercardinal points around the letter. The central device is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, beyond which the peripheral legend reads in uncial Latin characters. The coin exhibits the characteristic irregular flan and bold relief typical of mid-15th century Italian hammered silver coinage. The overall design is plain and typologically anonymous, bearing no papal or personal arms.
