Reverse description A large ornate cross pattee occupies the central field, dividing it into four quadrants each containing a lis-seeded fleur-de-lis or heraldic motif in the characteristic style of Provencal royal coinage. The cross is enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend in Gothic uncial script reads SIT nOmEn DnI BEnEDICTVM, translating as 'Blessed be the name of the Lord', a standard pious inscription on French royal billon coinage of this period.
