Reverse description A bold cross occupies the central field, with a fleur-de-lis placed in each of the four angles formed by the arms of the cross, all contained within a quatrefoil border. The design follows the standard late medieval French billon coinage convention, with the cross acting as the dominant compositional element. The surrounding circumscription, rendered in Gothic uncial script, carries the devotional legend SIT NOMEN DOMINI BENEDITVM. The flan is irregular in shape, as is typical of hand-struck medieval issues.
