| Obverse description | Central field displays a large Gothic letter K surmounted by a royal crown decorated with fleurs-de-lis, the whole framed within a raised inner circle. Two fleurs-de-lis flank the crowned K in the lower field, characteristic of the heraldic style associated with Charles VII. The design is executed in the late Gothic manner typical of French billon coinage of the first half of the fifteenth century. The surrounding legend, separated from the central device by a beaded inner circle, reads +.KAROLVS:FRANCORV:REX, identifying the issuer as Charles, King of the French. |

| Reverse description | Central field features a plain Latin cross pattee extending to the inner circle, dividing the field into four equal quadrants, each left plain. The cross is boldly rendered in the hammered style, with slightly splayed terminals touching or nearly touching the inner beaded circle. The surrounding legend, separated by a raised inner circle, reads +.SIT:NOME:DNI:BENEDICTVM, the devotional inscription meaning 'Blessed be the name of the Lord,' a formula commonly employed on French royal billon coinage of this period. |
