| Reverse description | A large scallop shell rendered frontally and in high relief, its radiating ribs fanning outward from a narrow hinge at the base and filling most of the flan. The shell rests on a flat baseline below which the Latin mint signature LOVCERI appears in the exergue, identifying the issuing authority of Luceria. The reverse field is otherwise plain. The die work is bold and schematic, consistent with the output of the Lucerian mint during the Second Punic War period. |
